Kdrama May Sweeps

News about the crazy May drama schedule. What are you guys going to watch?

My transcap for49 Days E13 will be a little late tm so it won’t be live – will post as soon as torrents are available when I get home. I will rush through dinner and coffee with friends, translate during vacations and holidays, or endure inclement weather to make it back home in time-but there is only one thing that I can’t turn down and that is the opportunity to see YAI in person. Patiently waited for months and it is finally happening tm. Will give you details after I come back from the event.

In the month of May in the U.S. -all the networks try to squeeze in as much high ratings as possible by airing the season finales to lure viewers in for the fall season. This year Korea decided to reverse it and start all the popular dramas all at once. Not sure about other bloggers, but this one is starting to feel the pressure. For months now, I have been deliberating between which dramas to watch and which ones to avoid-all the name changes along the way didn’t help. I finally narrowed down the options and here are the ones that made the pre-final cut and reasons why I chose each of them.

*Ripley (or whatever they decided to call it- was it Goodbye Ripley?) – Despite the fact that I can’t stand LDH, I simply must watch Micky in something other than a hanbok. I am dying to see how good he is when he isnt playing a straight-laced scholar (plus I want to see if he can pull off that hairdo)

*Lie to Me- I loved coffee house for introducing me to KJH and I have a soft spot for YEH ever since coffee prince and am willing to give her another chance after that last debacle with JIW (never even finished that drama)

*Best Love cuz of YKS (loved him in “Who are you”) and who can stay away from the Hong sisters?

*City Hunter and You’ve fallen for me are too far away to even think about now, but they are on the list too.

Obviously I am not going to transcap all of those dramas at the same time, but I bet some of those will end up making the final cut. Starting from next week, all my transcaps will read more like brief recaps cuz some of those dramas overlap.

As it stands, I am keeping CYHMH and finishing up 49 Days here. When Best Love starts next week, look for highlights over at Thundie’s complete with screencaps and her take on each episode. 

After I check out Ripley and Lie to Me, I will post about each drama and let’s see which one we like more. Since subs will take a day or two, if I post quick summaries, maybe you guys can help me decide quicker between those two dramas to keep. (Personally, I am rooting for Lie to Me to win)

Sorry if some of you were hoping I would cover other dramas like Baby Faced Beauty, Romance Town, Manny, or those sageuk dramas coming up that sound interesting. Not enough time or energy I’m afraid. If you have already chosen your favorites, chime in and let me know. 🙂
