It shouldn’t hurt this much to love someone. Young and Soo have reached a point in their relationship where they don’t even need words to comfort each other. All they need is the security of touch and they feel reassured. Just like Young followed her instinct and cradled his head in her arms to comfort him when he told her he forgot about Hee Joo’s memorial, this time Soo got up from his chair and went over to her bedside and did the most natural thing that came to him. He held her close and let his embrace speak for him. I love that she didn’t pull away and just replied with silent tears. As long as he is feeling this much pain at the thought of losing her, I know he won’t ever let her go.

Soo earned his right to stay by her side. He brought laughter back in her life, gave her moral support, wiped away her tears, and made her feel like she had family again. More importantly, he loves her more than himself. For the first time in his life he wants to live for the right reason. Life numbed him, but Young made him feel again – what it means to live, to want to live, and be alive. When he was 19 and lost Hee Joo, he was scared of love and pushed it away. Now he is terrified of losing it and will hold on for dear life.

*I was too busy doing the live recap and wanting to catch every word that I didnt stop to let the scenes move me and let the words sink in. as I am translating now, I lost track of how many times I bawled through this episode. it wasnt just a few tears either – we are talking flooding my keyboard kind of waterwork.

Starts from the men robbing her. her phone keeps saying your brother is calling. she asks for them to let go of her bag. he lies and says I will take out your phone for you cuz your brother is looking for you. she asks for her phone and they can take everything else. just please give me the phone. she yells for help. suddenly soo comes over and breaks a glass over a guy’s head and scrapes his cheek across the wall to scare the others. it works cuz the other guys run off. soo’s hand is bleeding from the broken glass. soo lets go of the guy and he runs off. young gets on the ground looking for her phone. she finds the pill bottle and holds it. Soo holds her hand that’s clasping that bottle and calls out her name softly. she pulls away and gets up and walks off. he holds her back so she slaps him. young: it must have been so easy for you. to deceive me cuz I couldn’t see – it must have been really easy for you. he tries to hold her but she pushes him away and throws down the pill bottle saying a medicine for euthanasia.  he is crying as she drops to the ground in tears asking: why couldn’t you kill –why couldnt you kill me.  it was so easy like this– I couldn’t do anything like this so why couldn’t you kill me. why?! his cries looking at her.

the thugs mutter why did that guy have to show up. one guy asks who is that. the other guy says don’t you know Oh Soo-how could you not know him. MC comes over and they bow to him

MC goes over and sees the spot where Soo and Young were and say our Oh Soo was one step ahead again. it’s fun. that guy who works for Kim is spying and watches as MC feels sudden pain

Soo and Young are at a café. he tries to put her drink in her hand, but she pulls away. Young: like HS said you need money huh? that’s why you came to me. it must have been convenient for you. I didn’t know that about you and wrote out that will for you on your own so how convenient. why didn’t you feed me the medicine when I would have been so easy. why? cuz you are human does your conscience bother you. no matter how much money is good – cuz you showed up cuz my oppa showed up – I went around all happy smiling/laughing and having fun – did you pity me or were you afraid you would be caught by others after I die. if not that… Soo cries and says:  if not that-  or I love you a lot. that pill was mine. one day I thought – why am I living. no matter how much I thought  about it – I didn’t have a reason to live but why did I want to live so much like this. if it (my life) just ended – not one person’s heart would ache. if it ended today, it’s not a life to feel regret/feel bad about. but after meeting you  – while being with you… (Soo’s voice was shaking from emotion so he closes his eyes and wont allow himself to finish his sentence) let’s stop. how about this way. I will leave you. then it will all be over right? Young feels hurt and says: you will leave? Soo: yes. Young: that is so easy and nice. go well. she gets up and walks away from him.

Young is in pain as she walks down the stairs. she stumbles down the steps and the girl tells her it’s dangerous. so Soo rushes to her side and holds her calling out her name. she shakes him off and says “it ends if you leave. does it end for you if you leave. I remain and it’s all over for you if you leave. then go! then leave!” she faints so Soo catches her. his phone rings so Soo yells for JS to bring the car right now

Sora goes to meet wang.

Soo is carrying young on his back as JS yells and asks where is the emergency room.

Wang asks: is the reason why oppa Oh Soo is dangerous to Young the 78uk ($7 million) debt-why does he have that debt?
Sora: he was a gambler and took money from a sponsor – the deadline to pay back the debt is getting closer. right now that person is surrounded on all sides by enemies completely cornered with no way out. wang says right now I am suspicious if he is truly the brother.  I am more curious about the Oh soo who died than him. how did the Oh Soo who died grow up?  sora: I dont know. I heard he was at an orphanage. wang: orphanage? where is the orphanage oppa was at? sora starts to tell the real name “Hope” but changes the name to “Chance.”   jang shows up so wang says I will think over what we dicussed today. I have an appointment.  it’s cue for sora to leave

jang asks why wang met sora. wang says you don’t trust me (dont believe me) so I don’t want to say everything.

Young gets scanned and examined. the doctor tells Soo that the tumor is back and she needs surgery as soon as possible. MC’s sister must have been called in to consult cuz she comes over and looks at the scan and says -what is this – it cant be operated on. she asks the other doctor: why? were you giving useless hope again? that is why I dont trust you. let’s drink next time. she walks out so Soo goes after her. HS asks if that person just now was MC’s older sister. JS: it’s so unlucky that those siblings are fighting

Soo calls out and stops her. he asks her to perform the surgery. she says I wont play a game I cant win at. he yells “game? when a person is dying -in your eyes does this look like a game. are you a doctor! she says if this isnt a game – then is what you gamble on a game? like what MC does-  gangster games. you are so funny. she pulls away from him and walks off. he tries to call out to her

HS says Young woke up so Soo runs back

jang tells wang he met with with lee sul who attended the secret vote last time (about Young staying on as president) and MH embezzled some funds so the board thought wang was taking responsibility for that.   she says I never got the reports. if I had then I wouldnt have called you about this matter. jang tells her about the board members and who they are thinking of putting in charge – someone named Jung cuz Young’s father recommended him. wang: what about Young? jang: they think this is best for Young cuz what she wants is for the company to be safe so wang yells come to your senses they are just saying it’s for Young’s sake to get rid of me-they have to get rid of me to do whatever they want. aside from me who else is in this world had the late president’s backing.  she gets mad and leaves making a call

Soo sits by her bedside. Young: you said you were leaving so you should have left. why didn’t you leave. people like you who can see – words like I am leaving is casual. what I will think – someone who cant see and who is left alone – it doesn’t matter to you people huh? what did the doctor say?
Soo: your cancer is back
Young: what i guessed/assumed is correct
Soo: (the doctor) said you just need to have surgery (and it will be ok)
Young: when I was 6 people said that too – “all you have to do is get surgery.” “you just need chemotherapy  20 times.” “it just needs to not come back (not have a recurrence).” words are so easy.
Soo: it’s ok if you’re not ok so want to cry?
Young: no not really.
Soo goes behind and back hugs her and holds her hand. that’s when she allows herself to cry freely. it’s like his hug and reassurance was a trigger for her tears to flow. Soo is crying with her.

HS and JS open the door and watch Young crying as Soo hugs her. JS closes the door and leaves. HS says the way Soo is crying like now – I saw him do that just once – at the morgue when he hugged my sister after she died. JS says I remember. HS: this feels strange – I’m not really mad or angry – what is this. she walks off

jang is driving wang and she is crying. she found out about the tumor coming back. he holds her hand to give her comfort.

wang opens the door and sees Soo hugging young. they are sleeping. jang asks should we wake the two? wang just leaves

Soo gets a text and wakes up. he checks it and it’s from sora. she says tm is the third day I promised. you remember right? it would be better if you prepared to leave there. Soo puts his phone away and resumes hugging Young.  young: it must be uncomfortable for you so go down and sleep. he says from now on – let’s sleep together. until I leave let’s sleep together. she says there are times it’s nice to be hurt cuz if this was another time you would have nagged we shouldn’t sleep together. he holds her hand tighter so she smiles

*in Korean hospitals there are pull out cots under the beds for family and friends so Young meant for him to sleep on that when she said “go down and sleep.”

next morning JS chases after Soo and yells: are you determined to die? what do you mean it’s not time yet?! Sora is after you Moo chul is after you -there is only 26 days left. make a deal with Lee Myung ho right now. send him the photos here (on the phone) and ask for money and let’s get out of here. Soo: the money wont come from Lee Myung Ho (meaning MH wont pay). JS: how do you know if he will pay or not! like I said a while ago – it’s not your business how MH comes up with the 7 million. if he cant sell his own home he will sell his siblings and parents home -if that still doesnt work cuz he is smart he will take money from the company or sell his stocks. Soo says we should catch wang (go after wang) instead of MH. JS: get a grip on the situation. you’ll get caught that you like young. how you talk – how you behave/act- how your eyes look right now.I am saying this clearly – the one who is terminally ill is not Young. you have to live first. soo says I will live. no matter what happens – even when I was locked up and when MC stabbed me with a knife I lived. even when I was abandoned under a tree in the winter as a baby I lived. even when I stole money from your mom and dad and betrayed them when they treated me like their child I lived without feeling like I sinned.  when HJ died in front of me I kept living.no matter what i live.  I have you and HS (long pause)- I have so many reasons to live. he walks away

JS sees that HS heard all that. he asks what are you thinking – she says the same as you.

JS texts MH the photos and says I am Oh Soo hyung’s dongsang JS, I need 7 million – I will give you one week’s time. MH sees the incriminating photos JS took of him. he gets out of the car and follows Soo into the cafe

JS: this is the first time hyung didn’t listen to me. JS: if he listened this time you would have died by me. I’m going to forget about Soo now.  JS: are you jealous? HS: let’s go catch wang. you and I can do our dating stuff later. he says how she is such a loyal girl.

Soo is meeting with wang, MH, and Jang. Soo: cant move hospitals. either she gets surgery or get treatments Young will stay at this hospital. wang says doctor hyun the one who has been treating Young all this time is the best in the country -no matter what you say I wont allow Young to be treated in this hospital that I never heard of.  so we are going to switch hospitals today – no right now. Soo: what are you to say that.  MH says you are speaking too harshly so soo says to him in banmal – you aren’t married to young yet so you arent anything right. so shut your mouth.  wang says then what are you? you think I believe you are the real brother? no I dont believe you. cuz Young believes so I am just pretending to believe.  Soo: I do that too.  cuz Young doesnt say a word –  that you are a good caretaker – a caring substitute mom – I am just pretending to believe that. you are checking up on me? I am checking up on you. when we all have a good hand (of cards) to play -let’s get together like this and play a game.  until then Young will be treated and get surgery at this hospital by doctor cho. he walks off and jang follows him

MH calls out to jang. wang throws water on MH and says I told you not to play around with the company. MH: what are you talking about now. wang: embezzling funds. the engagement is called off.  she gets up to leave but MH calls out Oh Soo is blackmailing me

jang looks through the photos of MH with his girlfriend. jang: lets just say you dont believe MH (cuz of this) but what is the reason why you are suspicious of sec wang. soo: young’s eyes aren’t like that cuz of the brain tumor. when Young was younger the brain tumor was taken care of (cured) but her eyes were left damaged so young could be controled like she wanted. jang:watch what you are saying. for so many years even though your father didnt treat her like a person sec wang raised Young like her own child. how dare you suspect her. Soo says what if I have proof that sec wang damaged Young. jang says bring the proof and dont just play around with words cuz until then I wont ever believe you. soo: ok I will do that. Soo walks off

jang calls and asks what happened with the fingerprint I sent you

young is walking down the hall so mira asks where are you going? why dont you lie down.  young: I am on my way to meet the doctor. take me to doctor Gu’s room. the doctor comes over and asks young: where are you going.

they meet alone. young: I will ask again. if your family was in my state, surgery and chemo that could take ten or more –  would you tell them to go through that again? he says I would do it. she asks then will everything end. wont be sick again. wont relapse. can I live for certain? he doesn’t answer. young: so that’s not it. she walks away.

mira asks what the doctor said but Young walks away

soo is walking back to the hospital and sees young driving away with wang so he calls out for Young and chases the car

in the car young asks : we are going home right? wang says no we are going to doctor hyun’s hospital. young: a while ago you said we were going home. wang: you cant go home.  so young says stop the car-stop the car!  wang says to keep driving. so young tries to get out while the car is still moving. young gets out so wang goes out and slaps her. wang: what are you doing?

Soo drags mira out and she says it hurts oppa. why are you like this. where are we going. soo: to meet that doctor you went to meet with Young in high school. you remember that doctor’s hospital right – the one who said Young had RP. mira: how do you know that? Soo: I saw Young’s diary. dont think of lying. get in the car. mira tries to explain: oppa back then with sec wang I.. but Soo doesnt want to hear her reasons and yells get in the car.

wang takes young home and makes all the maids leave. hurry – all of you get out. wang says to Young: you have the surgery – I will make you. young says I wont have surgery or any treatments either. wang: why? do you want to die?  young: that’s what I am going to do.  wang slaps her really hard. young falls to the ground. wang says I hit you for the first time. while you lived with me during all that time – even though you slapped me on the cheek 10 or 20 times -right now I hit you for the first time. young cries and says in banmal: I know. wang: is this your revenge towards me. since when did you prepare this cruel revenge -starting from when you were six? when you first got diagnosed with the brain tumor? did you think i was using you too? like those around you – like the other people at the company? wanting to go after this family’s fortune and killing your father -controlling you and getting the company and making you get married to MH. controlling you like a doll and in the end wanting to get the president’s position – did you only see me as someone who would stoop that low too?  young says: no you arent that level. at one time I did misunderstand you like that – that you couldnt be a person – that you are a monster. if I had strength there was a time when I wanted to kill you. wang: so cuz you couldnt do that- you are going to die and get revenge? young: while doing that – one day I thought that – when no one is at home- if you pushed me from the top of the stairs I would die so why didn’t you do that. when I was sleeping you could have smothered me with the blankets and I wouldnt have been able to do anything about it,  but why did you come to my room late at night and just touch my forehead and hands and then just go. wang: if I was after the company all I had to do was keep you ignorant -if I didnt teach you the computer for the blind you wouldnt have been able to see a single paperwork and been helpless. but I taught you – when you said you didnt want to learn -while getting slapped over ten to 12 times a day – wouldnt give up and made you the way you are now.  young: I remember. “young – this company is yours. if you want to take care of what is yours – even if you hate it you have to learn – you are blind so this is the only way you can live in this scary world. you have to learn.” I remember everything you said.

wang cries and hugs her and says please have surgery. if you have surgery you can live. so what if you relapsed – we can just do it again. let’s have surgery huh.  young: I am too exhausted – I wont do it. I want to get married. oppa is leaving soon. I want to look pretty for oppa for the last time. if I get married oppa will worry less. that’s all I need. wang says ok I will put a wedding dress on you – being born as a woman and wanting to put on a wedding dress once- there is no reason why I cant do that-  all we have to do is just get you surgery and have the wedding both. young stands and says: I wont have surgery. wang makes Young hold onto the bannister and hands Young her bag. wang says no you will have surgery. you cant see so it’s not hard for me to get you to have surgery.  we will keep up this tiring fight till you want to live. go on up. young cries and goes up the steps alone

mira looks at the list of doctors. soo: is he here? mira: he isnt here. soo: dont you know that doctor’s name? mira: park something but I cant remember well. soo asks the attendant if there is someone named doctor park g. here in this hospital.  he leaves and drives off. mira goes out and calls after him

soo was told the doctor left ten years ago and opened his own hospital. soo asks where the location of that private hospital is but she didn’t know. soo gets a call froms sora

soo goes to meet sora and gets in her car. sora says wang already knows you came to Young cuz you wanted money. what she doesnt know is one thing – that you are Young’s fake brother. if you didn’t come now I was going to tell wang everything but you came. soo: I am saying this clearly. even if I came – tell wang. I cant play with a kid who doesnt have loyalty. even if I am tricked like this by you – i dont have much to say. just think of it as payment for playing with you. but you shouldn’t do this to Kim. he fed your family and made you into someone who has this much when you werent anything when you were 16 yrs old. she says love is not loyalty. soo: I know love. what you are doing to me is clinging- love is really simple. when the other person says it’s over – it ends. someone who doesnt want to – telling them to love together – that is being clingy. love is not a bet/a wager so there is no betrayal. it started cuz you want to and nothing gets through. just cuz you insist doesn’t mean an obession will become love. she asks do you like that kid Young that much. so much that you would put your life on the line like this? soo: every human being just once tries to remember wanting to die. if they do then they think this isnt that bad now. sora:  she likes you cuz you are her oppa. if she knows you aren’t her oppa she will end it right away. soo: I know – that’s why I am going to leave. he gets out and goes back to his car. she gets out and calls out I will tell for real – I will really tell wang your identity. that spy for Kim watches her and makes a call

MH reports to wang -how meeting that woman sec han the other day was just to say goodbye for the last time. he talks business next and explains why he embezzled the funds and put it towards the factory cuz he thought it would be useful for them and it didnt take much funds to do it. wang: men always think that women can close their eyes just once over problems with women so I brought you all the way here. to young the company is her lifeline. if you play around like this again without me knowing wang – I can guarantee it will be the end of you. MH: I know. wang: before the wedding surgery is first. before the surgery if the wedding date is set, surgery is first. MH: the wedding can end in a day, but surgery -after it you have to see what the results are and it will take a long time – what I think is…he doesnt finish his thought and says I will do as you asked. wang gives him a business task and instructs him to send an email to her. Soo comes in. MH says I will go to the countryside home first (where his parents live)

wang tells Soo how young is going tm to meet with MH’s parents about the wedding. I wanted to take her but Young insists on going with you.  he says surgery is more important now than the wedding. wang: for the first time we both have the same goal. but young wants to do the wedding more than the surgery. so I made her the deal/offer to do the wedding and surgery both. soo: where is young? wang:  in her room. did you know JS blackmailed MH. Young and I both already knew the truth that MH had a woman. please tell JS that MH cant give the money. also be careful – cuz young trusts you/believes you, I am being patient about all this. but after young’s surgery – even if you are the real brother – it’s the end for you. soo: if she has the surgery for me too – it doesnt matter if it’s over. but when it’s over for me – you will have to end with me too. soo walks up to see young

Soo looks at her with an angry face as young smiles and says: why – do I look too shameless? not knowing when I will die and saying I am getting married -do I look shameless? is that it? is that why you arent speaking to me? I dont know if the marriage will be short or what will happen but if that person becomes the successor to PL group I did as much as I could to help. isnt that right? Soo: have surgery. Young: they say a woman is prettiest when she wears a wedding dress. look forward to it. she gets up  and walks away so soo stops her and calls out her name. young: the time while we are together – always be happy. we dont have much time.

JS runs over to an accident site. his sister had a car accident with her friend’s dad’s car and hit an expensive car. the car owner wants JS to pay since he is the brother and cuz the sister didnt have a license. the sister keeps crying. HS asks her whose car this is and the girl says her friend Lee sul’s dad’s car. the friend comes over and yells at JS’s sister. what are you going to do now.

the sister keeps crying saying this is so annoying and repeats the cost of the damage to the car they have to pay. so HS yells at her to stop – what did you do so well to cry – it’s so loud. the girl cries louder so HS throws water in her face.

JS walks off so HS goes after him and asks where are you going. JS: to ask to borrow money from Kim. HS: are you crazy? JS: I have to stop this before mom and dad find out. HS: ya. JS: then what do I do – Kim is the only one I know who has money. HS slaps him and then hugs him. she says let’s calm down first and put our heads together and tell Soo too. let’s find a way. his sister’s friend comes over and says I thought I was going to die. don’t worry it’s been taken care of. a brother I know took care of it and paid off the damages/compensation. JS sees MC smiling and leaving. JS asks what that girl just said. he calls after the girl

on the car ride over to meet MH’s parents and set the wedding plans, Young is talking about MH’s parents. I am looking forward to it – what kind of parents they are. I think people who are farmers are all nice. what do you think oppa. we have to have the wedding the week before you leave oppa. let’s go on the honeymoon together. you oppa, JS, and HS – all of us. it will be fun huh? oh yeah we have to make wedding invitations. it would be nice just to have the family together and be cozy but we have to invite the group’s board members. it can be emceed by lawyer jang and when I walk down the aisle for the wedding I will hold onto your hand oppa. why aren’t you answering. you aren’t going to make me walk down the aisle alone during the wedding right. you better not or I wont leave you alone. Soo pulls over and tells her to come out. let’s talk about your wedding before you go to the meeting.

wang is waiting outside and remembers her conversation with sora. sora: I asked to meet you today to request that you help me and oppa Oh Soo leave here. I can give him the money cuz I still love him. but it’s not a problem  that will end with just the money. the two of us need a place that’s safe. so that no one can know so that we can leave korea safely. if you help us – we wont impose on PL group  and I will leave quietly with that person.

the woman from the orphanage comes over and says this is strange. the picture is gone. it was here for certain. some young woman came two months ago and asked to see it so I showed her. wang: someone came about Oh soo. the woman says yes a young woman. wang remembers the correct name of the orphanage that Sora said and asks the woman to find one called Hope it if all the orphanages are connected.the woman says she will do that. *Sora said the correct name of the orphanage for Soo then changed it to a wrong one but wang remembered the first one sora said. the photo of Soo that is missing is probably HS covering up the trail that leads to Soo

wang makes more calls about Oh Soo and goes down the list of orphanages with that name.

the café guy called Jang and said I found the photo. he shows jang the photo of young oh soo they took to commemorate Oh Soo leaving. look – the scar is on the left arm. the oh soo now is not the real oh soo

Soo looks up info on his phone and says there is a really great wedding planner company here. all the chaebols in our country use this place. we just need to entrust everything with them. the wedding ring, invitation, wedding dress, honeymoon. Young: that’s good – let’s entrust them. he asks if she knows that MH has a woman. Young: it’s probably all in the past. soo: what if MH embezzled money from the company. young says wang is there so it wont be easy. soo gets sarcastic and says young is impressive. you are really cool. young: the way you are talking – why are you like that? soo: you are pretty, nice, cool, smart, have a lot of money. on top of that you arent afraid to die. you are really unfortunate. there is one thing about me that is better than you – just one. no matter what moment -I will want to live.  young: I thought you would understand me but you dont.  you said there was a time when you wanted to die too. so that is why you prepared the medicine.  soo: that was a motivator. looking at that pill -to live and not die. I will say this clearly – I always want to live. young: if you want to live you can live but I cant live even if I want to live. ever since I was 6 I prepared for this. when the time comes – like now I should go (die) while smiling. I shouldnt be pathetic and talk about maybes. even now this moment being with you- I like it so much and it’s warm but I shouldnt hold onto it – I shouldnt miss it. I prepared ever since I was 6 so don’t make me waver. dont make me count on you. let’s go. soo calls MH and tells him where they are – please come here. young: what are you doing.

soo stands up and says : I am going to leave you behind here and go alone. you are terrible at lying. you dont want to die. you want to live. you are just afraid of admitting that and being pitiful the moment you admit that. I am sorry – seeing how you are right now – it makes me feel like you are being more pathetic. he walks away so she says don’t go -go with me. let’s go together. she holds onto him but he pulls away and says “until the moment you die – have fun with me?” is this fun for you? it wont work out the way you want (it wont happen the way you want).unless you say you want to live -now nothing will happen the way you want. he walks off.  with her eyes full of tears she calls out where are you going. let’s go together. come here. but he left and drove away from her.

Moo Chul is shooting hoops. soo goes over and quietly kneels down.MC: what is this. Soo asks him the request –to get his sister doctor cho to perform young’s surgery. MC tries to walk away but soo moves over and blocks him while still on his knees. Soo: she is a nice kid. MC kicks him and beats him up. MC watches as Soo cries. Soo holds MC’s hand and says please save her hyung. MC gets up to leave. soo: hyung please. he grabs MC’s leg and begs –hyung please. I will come tm too and the day after tm too I will come. I just need to die by your hands. let’s save Young. please let’s save a kid who is innocent (who doesn’t have any sin) please don’t make her end up like Hee joo hyung. MC walked away from him cuz his heart was aching

* Soo never once begged for his own life, but he went here on purpose just to beg for Young knowing full well MC would beat him up. Soo didnt flinch and took each kick and punch willingly and volunteered to keep coming back. that’s what tore up my heart even more.

soo goes home and the maid wonders what happened to soo’s face.

wang is still making her calls and apologizes for calling so late. she finds out where Oh soo was in the past. the orphanage he was at called Hope. (she is trying to track down his real photo)

soo goes to his room and gets a call. he ignores it. young comes in and says it’s me. Soo: I know I can see. young: why are you saying it like that – didnt you think saying something like that would hurt me. soo: I do. young: then why did you do it? Soo: cuz you hurt me I am returning the hurt. young: I didnt hurt you. Soo: that’s what you think. go to your room. young says let’s talk. he says talk about what -after you die that I will miss you or not – that talk? for the last time – having to watch your wedding and then leave -my feelings about that? what talk? she wants to talk about meeting MH’s parents today and how good MH’s parents are. soo: you cant see so how would you know that? she turns to go cuz he doesn’t want to talk today she says. soo stands and says I am injured a lot. my lips and eyes have cuts and I am bleeding too, but you cant see me. no you dont even want to see.  cuz you are afraid of surgery. she goes over to touch him and asks why did you get hurt – where are you hurt. he swats her hand away and says you dont want to see me. it’s all a lie that you want to see me isnt it? young: yes it’s a lie – do you feel better now?

she turns to go but he pushes her against the wall and says: no – I dont feel better. I am just sick of your lies. that is why I am going to leave now. young: why did you come – did you come to do this from the start. he says no – I didnt come to do this from the start, but if I knew you would be this selfish, I shouldnt have come from the start. I am regretting it now. young cries and says: what do you want from me. soo: the words that you want to live. that purpose for you to live. young: then what will change. I cant live. that I don’t want to see you? no I want to see you. ever since you came I wanted to see you every day. but what is the point.  I cant see. I  am so scared I could die. why do you keep making me so weak like this. why do you keep making me want to live?!

JS fights with MC and says: if you are going to kill hyung kill me too -kill me too!

soo tells himself: let’s not forget this moment being with Young so that it wont feel unfair when I get stabbed by MC hyung’s knife.

Soo asks her to look at the brain scan again. MC’s sister says in this case there is no chance (for Young) to recover from this – the time that is left  –  spend it having fun

This love story feels different on so many levels. It makes you realize things that aren’t that noticeable. Each time Soo does something sweet and wonderful for Young, he gets to watch the effect his words and actions have on her, but she doesn’t get to see his reactions. If she could only note just how much her mere presence alone changes him, I bet she would know right away that this kind of love won’t be demolished from the weight of lies and deceit. What they built is too strong to be knocked down by poor judgment and desperation. I worried that Young would take the truth too hard and not find the strength to forgive him, but I forgot about her desperation to probably want to believe in him. I should have taken into account that she is at a threshold and doesn’t want to differentiate between right and wrong at this point. If her two choices are to wallow in the betrayal and let Soo go out of her life and be alone again or accept his wrongdoings and keep him by her side, I think we can venture a guess which decision seems more likely. Just like she relies on her walking stick to guide her path, this is the perfect time to just follow her heart.

That day when Young first tested his motive for coming back, when he saved her from the train –by pulling her away from danger to safety he didn’t just rescue her, he was saving something that was yet to unfold. He thought he did it cuz he has a conscience – a limit to his scam that didn’t involve death, but by saving her that day he ended up saving himself and a future he didn’t know he would come to want so desperately.

People have been complaining about his near kisses when she is sleeping, but those are the exact scenes that keep me sitting on the edge of my seat. Being in that moment knowing how he must feel and wishing he had the courage to go through with it but understanding why he can’t – it’s like this writer is playing a tug of war with our emotions. She pulls a little so we lean forward each time. I feel like I know more about Soo’s feelings than Young’s cuz Soo is wearing his heart on his sleeve – it’s been obvious to Jin Sung and Hee Soo from the start and now Moo Chul has caught on as well. Watching this man lose himself to his emotions – struggling with them in a futile attempt to regain control but failing miserably – maybe it’s sadistic to say but watching Soo’s pain is the most beautiful thing.

Soo is going to lose his struggle tm night I just know it.

Young’s brother’s name stood for protecting his younger sister and the world. Soo doesn’t owe the world anything, but now the meaning behind his name has changed. He is going to continue where her brother stopped- by protecting the real Oh Soo’s sister, Soo is making amends to his friend for using his name. Soo messed up his life the second he ran away from Hee Joo and his unborn child. Something he lived to regret – he is not about to repeat his mistake. This time he wont run and he will stay and fight. He has the maturity now to defend what matters to him, the wisdom to make it happen, and the willingness to put her first- even if that means sacrificing himself.

During the press conference, this is the answer I liked about the drama title.

Kim Bum: Someone asked the monk – is that tree shaking or is the wind making it shake. the monk said the heart is making it shake. There is something similar to that inside this project too about that wind- personally that’s how I think. According to what is happening – what the characters have – their emotions and thoughts change so things become anew so I think the wind is shaken by the heart.

Noh Hee Kyung starts off saying how this project is well known so she was asked why do a story that everyone already knows. so she explains: when I saw the draft about a man who had been abandoned and a blind woman meeting – it wouldn’t leave me. why did they want to live? why did they each want to live?  the blind woman – as a woman – what is love to her. these questions –while writing this drama every day my heart ached a lot. you will see a story about new people. While human beings live –asking endless questions about what they need. While finding those answers – they realize “it’s worth living in this world.” They can live cuz of someone. I hope you can feel these things. I am working hard to find these answers too. please look forward to it. the actors are working hard so please encourage/support them a lot.

In other interviews the writer said: Why did this guy who didn’t have a purpose for living – why does he want to live so much. that question wouldn’t leave me. I kept getting curious about it. not as his younger sister- couldn’t he love her as a woman? this woman- couldn’t she love him as a man and not an oppa? those questions wouldn’t leave my heart

I asked some blind people “what do you hate hearing the most?” they said “be still – just stay home and be still.” these words were the most hurtful and what they hated hearing the most. She goes on to say that’s what secretary Wang was doing – locking Young up at home so she wouldn’t bump into things and get hurt. then how Soo came along and brought Young out into the world. (This writer said some wonderful things, but it would take too long to translate it all so I just summed it up here.)

*SHK did go into some details about the kind of blindness her character has by describing all the various types of blindness, but it got too medical and too difficult for me so I didnt translate it. just based on what I understood, SHK is playing her character’s blindness exactly like she studied up on it. I really admire and appreciate her accuracy and attention to details.

Off topic: Did anyone else notice that during their first meeting, when Soo pulled Young into his arms so she wouldn’t be seen by the cops, Young looked directly at the scar on his face. She clearly saw it so I wonder if she will see it again and realize Soo is the man she met a year ago before he even gets a chance to tell her the truth.

E11 preview: Soo pulls up and drags Young out of the car and up some steps without a word. she staggers and cant walk properly cuz she is being dragged up the steps. Young: where are we going? dont do this – it’s scary. I am blind. I am blind. dont do this – it’s scary. at the top Soo let’s go of her hand. Young: what are you doing? he takes her phone and takes photos.  Young: what is that? Soo gives her phone back and says: proof – today is the day I threw you away (abandoned you)

Soo is in his room when he gets a call from Moo chul. Soo: is that for real? Moo chul: did I ever kid around with you?

Soo runs out and calls out to Young. he rushes over and kisses her head. then he hugs her tightly smiling the whole time.

Soo meets with Moo chul. Moo chul: it’s 5 days. for the price of getting Young treated by my sister – I’m saying I’m moving up the day you hand over your life to me.

Soo must have already brought up Moo chul’s sister with wang at this point:

Lawyer Jang is on the phone with Young’s doctor (the one wang called). Jang says doctor Hyun knows doctor Cho (Moo chul’s sister) very well. her personality is rough/brusque but she has skills. she is a talented doctor that other doctors acknowledge at (medical) school. he (doctor Hyun) said we could trust her and entrust Young’s surgery to her. I dont know what Oh Soo is thinking.

Soo comes over so Jang invites him to sit but wang tells Soo to just go up. Soo says lawyer Jang asked to see me but wang says Young said she would have the surgery. we were going to request that you ask her to get surgery but there is no need. Soo: for the surgery – doctor Cho – the one I mentioned… wang interrupts and says: we will do that. Soo: this seems too easy. wang: there is nothing easy about it. we looked into dcotor cho and we can trust her so that’s why. you can go up. after Soo goes up Jang asks wang: why didnt you tell… the video cuts off before the rest of his sentence
