Omg this drama breaks my heart and then puts it back together with the best bandaids – the sweetest scenes and dialogue – understated and subtle, but packed with emotion. Until this drama came along, I never knew that it was possible to fall so in love with drama characters. They grow on you and feel so familiar over time. I guess that’s why they are called family dramas -cuz they have a way of bringing you into their embrace and you feel that warmth one episode after another.

TH asks her: did you have a good day today? they run and hide when the parents come in. mom wonders why something was overturned.

TB asks SY: why did you have to bring up the contract marraige? SY: to fool you. TB: what did I do that was so wrong? She accuses him: in your head, there is only one thing – just HR. there is no Cha SY and there is no baby (in my stomach) {just means he isnt thinking of her or the baby}

mom asks the dad why HR had to come back to IBC – what was she thinking of towards TB to come there. (it sounds like the mom thinks HR did this to mess with TB’s feelings)

HR asks TB:was it cuz of me? TB: it was decided cuz of me -cuz I think I ignored my wife too much. I want to prepare to be a father. TB buys baby stuff.

TB makes SY breakfast and says: what do you think about us registering for marriage?

*I told you guys TB would step up   woooohoooo How cute were TH and J hiding from the parents. LOL

Starts from TB standing by the water’s edge and he notices that SY came and is standing by him. She starts to walk away but he quickly walks over and holds onto her arm. He says he will quit start together. he wont do it anymore. he wont need to meet Han HR as a scriptwriter too anymore

SY and TB go to tell the head director. he asks what that means – why pull out of start together suddenly.  TB says sorry. Director says he doesnt need anything else – what is the reason. TB says for personal reasons I decided this cuz I cant focus on the program. I dont know what to say since there arent many days left till the show and this is so irresponsible. Director says what kind of nonsense is this cuz TB cant even give a rational explanation and is just saying he cant do it. He says he will act like he didn’t hear this and tells TB to leave, but TB says sorry I will pull out of Start together. Director yells – are you joking right now? it’s two weeks before the show. cuz you were doing well I coddled you, now can you not see what’s going on in front of your eyes. the promo went out starting from yesterday. what kind of irresponsible behavior is this. TB: I am sorry. director says give it up cuz  TB has to do the show and cant back out. if TB insists on backing out then put his life on the line and write a resignation. TB says sorry and takes it out of his pocket. SY is shocked as TB already wrote it and lays it on the director’s desk. Director yells  – are you really going to disappointment me like this?  TB says sorry and director throws TB’s resignation at him.

When they are outside. She asks when he wrote his resignation. That the director was just talking out of anger so how could TB hand in his resignation. TB says he thought director wouldn’t accept him pulling out of the show if he didn’t do that. TB puts his hand on her arm and says let’s go.

As they walk down the hall coworkers are already talking about TB quitting the program. they think maybe TB was scouted by another place. Choi – TB’s friend worries and says to TB – did you really quit start together? is it real? TB: yes. choi:why? when you wanted to do it so much. why waste this opportunity. isnt this the moment you killed yourself to get to. G comes over and says he heard something ridiculous from the director and asks if TB quit start together. TB: yes I am sorry. G asks what the reason is for TB to do this two weeks before the show -there must be a reason for that -if it’s not reasonable he wont accept. what is the reason – tell me. TB says he cant explain since it’s for personal reasons. G:what? TB: I am sorry I will accept any punishment. G punches him and says TB doesn’t have the right to call himself a reporter or broadcaster cuz he wouldnt do this irresponsible thing right before the show starts. Choi asks if TB is ok. choi: why did you have to quit-what is this. TB looks at SY and walks away

TS takes N to school. They walk by H’s room and N looks at her and waves. H waves at N. TS waves at her too. Then he takes N’s hand and keeps walking to the admissions office. TS meets with the teacher. N says hello to him says his name. the man says N speaks Korean well. He asks if N ate breakfast.N: yes I ate. the man asks  who N ate with. N lists all his family members. N: I ate with great grandmother, grandfather, grandmother, father, third uncle, maknae uncle, and J noona.  Man says that N has a huge family. He asks N to take a test cuz he wants to see what N’s ability is. N: yes. the man tells him to sit. TS tells N that he always has to write his name first on tests. N: yes. TS watches N write his name in Korean. TS tells him dont be nervous it’s ok if you get it wrong. solve it slowly – read over the problems well -there is a lot of time, so you can do it slowly. If there is something you dont know just choose #3. TS and the teacher leave N alone to take his test.

The director talks about the farm and if it’s walking distance and asks when N came to korea. TS says it’s been two months. teacher says there is no problem with N speaking and writing. he thinks since math in korea is harder than other countries, if N’s math test results arent good then he has to start from first level. TS: yes.  N says he solved it all. teacher checks and N did well. He gets a 100 on both pages. TS cant believe N did so well and teacher said that N studies well and can start at the second level which fits his age  (like H) TS thanks the teacher and says my son takes after me a lot and hugs N.

When TS and N walk out they see H and MS. H calls out N’s name.

MS says how impressive N is. H asks if N solved all math problems by himself. TS says of course N did who else would solve his test for him. MS says TS is grinning so much. TS says how good he feels. H wonders how N did so well. MS rubs it in saying how could N who rested at home still do better on the test than H who goes to school every day. MS says it’s good that N can attend the level he is supposed to be in. it would be nice if N was in the same class as H. TS says N would like that the most cuz it’s so different from having a friend you know and a friend you dont. MS offers to buy N’s school bag as a present. TS says not to cuz they already imposed too much on her. she says she isnt buying TS one so stay out of it cuz she is buying it for N. TS tells H to eat a lot cuz TS is buying. order as much as she wants to eat.  H tells N to eat a lot and gives him a kimpap. N gives her some food and tells her to eat a lot. TS asks MS to take N home after they eat cuz he has to go somewhere.

TS goes and picks up a customer. TS is working as a driver for people who are too drunk to drive home. it usually pays between $20-$40 per customer depending on how far away they live. TS would have to drive their car home and then he would have to take the bus or subway home or back to his next pickup location. The hours he needs to work are normally late in the evenings all the way past midnight.

TB is eating with his family. Mom wonders how TB made time to drop by. TB says he wanted to come sooner cuz of J and it so happened today he had some time. J: I was going to be a little pouty cuz you didn’t come by, but I heard you were in charge of a new program so I decided to forgive you. Heard you are the anchor. Grandma says how much she is looking forward to this. When does it start? TB laughs and says: what to do when my grandma is looking forward to it. Grandma it turns out I wont be doing that program.  Everyone is surprised “what?” TP: why? There aren’t many days left till the program airs. TB explains how originally it was supposed to be just G, the director as the sole announcer (emcee) but they included TB and was going to go with two emcees but now it went back to just one emcee. Mom wonders why the broadcasting station is changing their mind back and forth right before the show airs. What about the audience. Grandma criticizes the station. Where is there another announcer with TB’s looks and ability to talk well. TB agrees with his grandma. To be honest I am perfect as the sole/main emcee more than director G. Dad says it’s upsetting cuz they thought TB was going to come out on the show. TP says the same thing and says this doesn’t feel right. TH asks when the decision was made. TB says today. J tries to cheer him up and says another chance will come for sure cuz TB is already a star on the internet cuz he saved the kid. TB agrees and says another chance will come so don’t worry. TB changes the subject and says grandma the food is getting cold so we should eat. TB motions for TH to saying something so TH tells the grandma and the mom and dad that it’s ok. Who is younger hyung (meaning TB can bounce back from this)  GM says another chance will come. Cant hide how we are sad about this but since TB was able to come after a long absence let’s have a good dinner. Everyone says they will eat well. TB compliments TP for looking good. TP brags TH bought it. TH says even though it’s late, he bought it as a present for TP for getting a job. Grandma: our TH is so generous. MS: TH shi you are really a nice hyung. grandma brags there is no other hyung or guy like TH. J smiles to herself.

Grandma says: but I dont know why he doesnt meet any girls. she asks MS to introduce TH to a nice young lady if MS knows any.  MS asks TH: omo do you really not have a girlfriend? I thought you would already have one for sure. grandma: he doesnt have one. so if there is a nice young lady introduce him to her. J looks worried. MS to TH: do you really not have one? then should I really introduce you to someone. TH just grins but doesn’t say anything. J says to herself in her head –omo omo omo he isnt saying he doesnt want to. MS says she will look into it right away to TH. he sort of fake smiles showing teeth. J glares at him and says to herself in her head: omo omo omo till the very end he isnt saying he isnt (single).  J asks N and H what they think of the duck meat – how does it taste? is it ok?  it’s ok you can answer honestly.does it not taste good.  both kids just look at her.  TB says to J: “can you ask like that?” he asks N and H “do you want to eat this duck meat again next time?” Both kids quickly say no at the same time. everyone laughs but TH laughs the loudest. TB looks around at his family and looks sad and TH senses that.

TB, TH, and TP drink together. TB says the night air is good. Since it’s cold it makes him more alert.  TP asks: you are like that cuz you are upset aren’t you? what happened with start together. The promos already came out so why suddenly change it? TB changes the subject and says big hyung is running late. I wanted to see his face before I left. How is father and big hyung these days? TH: they are the same as usual. It hasn’t gotten any worse. Hyung you have something going on now don’t you? TB says his mom and dad look well. TP: why do you keep changing subjects? You really do have something going on huh? TB: let’s drink. TH: but why didn’t you bring sister in law today? Is something going on with sister in law? TB: HR came to IBC. TP: what does that mean – did HR noona come back? TB: yes and she got divorced too. Also she didn’t just come to IBC. She came as Start together’s scriptwriter. TH: that’s why you quit start together? TB: yes. TP: but still – is there a need to go so far as to quit? Work is work. TB: SY said…he drinks. TP gets it and says frustrated: daebak. TH: are you ok? TB: of course I am not ok. It stings a lot. TB: Lee Dong Gook, who got hurt, right before the World Cup (soccer), did he feel like this, maybe? He was speeding along toward a world record, but right before the final, he broke his ankle.  TP drinks and mutters: HR noona- why did she have to come to IBC of all places – till the very end, I don’t like her. TB: Still, I should do the right thing, right? Like I have done all along. The choice to do what I like is not in my hands anymore. Before marriage, as my father’s second son, and now I am as SY’s husband. Like you said, SY is a good woman and she doesn’t deserve that type of treatment from me. So don’t worry. Even though this is throwing away a “golden” chance (rare chance) that has finally come after joining the company, it’s nothing. Three years ago, to send off one woman, I once threw my whole life away in order to do the right thing.

SY is home and remembers TB handing in his resignation. TB comes home and gets some water. She watches him. He walks out so she asks if he drank. He says you didn’t sleep. He says how he drank with TP and TH and that his parents were sad she didn’t come and especially his grandma missed SY a lot. SY asks nothing much is going on at home right. He stumbles to his room so she walks over and tells him to be careful. he says he is ok just a little drunk. she helps him into this room. He lies down on the floor so she covers him up with a blanket.

SY lies down next to him and watches him sleep. TB opens his eyes and looks at her. SY: thank you. I know how hard that decision was for you to make – I also know you gave a job you wanted to do so much. You wont believe it by my heart hurts as much as yours – I didn’t know with my own hands I would break your wings. I won’t say I am sorry and will accept it with a grateful heart. She gets up to leave but he holds onto her arm and asks her not to go and stay by his side till he falls asleep. SY: can I ask you one thing? do you love me? TB doesn’t answer. She tells him never mind and to sleep and gets up to leave the room.

*I never knew anyone could ask that question and be so vulnerable and hopeful at the same time. Her “do you love me” question just hung in the air and you could sense how deafening his silence was to her ears. Makes me cry just imagining her heart breaking in that moment. The worst part is there are two hearts that were actually broken cuz her sadness is felt by her baby as well.

J remembers MS asking TH: you really dont have one? then should I really introduce you to someone? and how TH just grinned. J asks aloud: why didnt he say he didnt want to? isnt sitting there not saying anything that he agrees? that means he is asking to be introduced. she checks her phone. J: and he didnt send a single text all day.

TS tries to get on the van for the early morning job again. Men mumble how it’s over for today. The guy gets a call that there are no more vans coming and calls that’s it for today. MS sees TS standing there but gets in her truck

SY comes out and TB made breakfast. Wow he made a lot of food. he tells her to sit and eat before she goes.  He says he isnt sure about the taste cuz he didnt make soup much before. SY says it’s ok. TB: that’s good and tells her to eat a lot. He asks if she doenst have plans at night. He asks to see a movie together. it’s been a while since they went. Is there a movie she hasn’t seen that she wanted to watch. TB: if you dont have one never mind. She says she will think about one. he tells her to eat some eggs

J goes to the shed and TH is already there getting the stuff ready. He asks if she slept well. He says before he went to work he was going to move the sawdust and feed for her. she says she isnt going to lay out the sawdust today. TH: you arent? then should I just move the feed? J: it’s ok you are afraid of the ducks so you can’t even go inside the coop. I will do it alone. she looks sulky so he asks: are you by any chance angry? J:no – why would I be angry. TH: if you arent then it’s ok. I will just move the feed for you then.

TH quickly goes in and drops off the feed and comes back out of the coop. J comes out and stands next to him.

(*If you’re wondering about those screenshots being so similar, it’s because I thought it was super cute that TH physically leaned over to see J’s smile, and then couldn’t help but smile himself -Fanderay)

TH asks if she wants to eat lunch together and he will go to the front of her office (to pick her up). J smiles and says I would like that. but she realizes and says she cant make it to lunch cuz of an appt – she changes that to – I have to work. I can make it for dinner. J uses aegyo and tugs on his arm asking: please buy me dinner. TH: do you have an appt with KJ? J: yes. he closes his eyes in frustration. J: it’s for work – I have to work. you know that I already received all the contract deposit.

J tugs on his arm with both hands and says again cutely: please buy me dinner. TH: where are you meeting him? she doesnt reply. TH: why cant you tell me where you are meeting? J: a sauna cuz Kim PDnim likes to go here and there to have meetings. TH sighs and says: ok -which sauna? no matter what I really wont go –just asking cuz I am curious. J: if you arent going to come what’s the point of knowing? TH: still – I’m curious.  tell me -where is it? I said I wouldnt go no matter what. you think I don’t have any pride?

* his last line was really cute cuz he used a defensive tone full of denial like he really wouldnt go there -bet he even convinced himself that he wouldnt go-pretty sure there is a part of himself that wants to kick himself for being so weak when it comes to her. 🙂

At the sauna, KJ and J turn a corner and “prideless boy wonder” TH is there with his other officers. D asks TH: hyung why have a meeting at a sauna when I get steamed up anyway whenever we have meetings. KJ looks closely and realizes who they are. J rolls her eyes. TH tells D : are you not going to focus? TH talks about the case -about how Im Jae Song did something with designer watches and stuff so they need to focus on Im Jae Song and not Park Dong Gun. did you understand that?  KJ says to J: let’s go over there to have a meeting. J says ok and throws TH a glare before walking away. TH watches them walk away

KJ asks what she wants to drink. She says water and he orders something sour. She is amazed he can drink something so sour. TH comes along and stands next to her and orders the same thing as KJ. And drinks it down in one gulp. In disbelief, D says to TH: hyung.  KJ orders another glass. So does TH. They both drink a lot. D makes gagging faces. TH almost gags. Omg they drank so many cups. J gets mad and walks off. D tries to count the empty glasses and gags thinking about how much they drank. TH and KJ look at each other.

Everyone is in the steam room. TH’s coworkers are dying from the heat. Two of them say they will leave first. TH motions for D to stay but D says he will make a call and come back – it’s an urgent one so wait. And takes off. J says it’s too hot and says should we get out too. They are glad to hear that and stand but she says : oh that’s right. the two of you have to compete to see who is going to hang in there longer. KJ and TH both sit down in disappointment. She says “fighting” to KJ and tells TH to make sure to win. she says it’s really hot as she leaves

They sneak looks over at each other. TH is about to leave but KJ tells him to come and get his mom’s keepsake. TH sits back down. KJ: I wasn’t going to say it first so I waited wondering “will he come now” or “will he come a day later” but in the end you make me say it first like this.  Come and get the keepsake cuz I don’t want to hang onto it anymore. Come and get it. TH: throw it away. KJ: what? TH: I said throw it away. TH gets up to leave.  KJ: say that again. TH: trash it.

KJ grabs his collar as J comes in and she sees KJ hitting TH. J calls out Kim PDnim. Then TH punches KJ. J yells ajusshi and gets between them. KJ gets emotional and cries as he holds onto TH out of anger

Y remembers her kiss with TP. She gets out of bed and goes to get some water. Y: what are you thinking of now – all TP did was just pretend to be your boyfriend in front of your friends – if you mistake this and let it get to you – you know it’s going to be humiliating right. She eats ice and tells herself to be cool

Y goes to work and sees TP with a customer. She tells herself to be cool again. TP comes over and he asks her to move aside cuz he has to ring up the sale. She moves over and watches him work. Y asks the other worker to let her do the work.  Y pretends to arrange clothes and looks over at TP. He is gone from that spot and is suddenly right next to her. he tells her to do the job better cuz what she hung up is crooked. She says yes. He smiles at her nervousness.

J walks away from TH. He is chasing after her. he catches up and asks her: I told you to answer me so why arent you answering. J: move. I am so angry right now so I dont want to talk to you ajusshi. TH: why are you mad? who is the person who should be mad now? cuz you keep meeting KJ, that’s why I keep doing foolish things. I told you not to meet KJ. J: does that make sense? to me this is work. so how can I quit my work? TH: all you have to do is hand over your copyright. J: what? TH: give it to him and dont work. J: do you mean that? TH: yes – that’s how much I hate that you meet KJ. TH:how much is the copyright amount? She says she is too disappointed in him right now. work is important to me too. like your work is precious to you, it’s like that for me too. I didnt know you thought so little of my work. (as in didnt think of it as meaningful) TH: it isnt cuz I think your work isnt worthwhile. J: stop – if you go on I think I will really start to dislike you.

J walks away so he chases after her and tries to hold onto her arm to stop her. J: move – I told you that I think I will start not wanting to see you. TH: the person who gave birth to me remarried with KJ’s father. the movie company president is KJ’s father. do you understand that?

* Joonni said that TH wanted J to hand over the copyright to her animation so that she doesn’t have to work with KJ.

J goes to KJ’s office and KJ says let’s finish the meeting we didnt get to a while ago. have a seat. J: yes. KJ: they say a good drama starts with a story to move it along so a rollercoaster like story will have positive sides.  She interrupts and asks if the president she met then is KJ’s father. KJ: yes he is my father. J: then your mother is the mom who gave birth to officer Hwang. is that correct? KJ: yes that’s right. Did you hear that from officer hwang. J: yes but why didn’t you tell me the truth? you knew that I liked officer hwang. KJ: so? was I suppose to tell you? since officer hwang told you then did he also tell you that his mother passed away? when I said to go and get his mother’s keepsake, did he also say that he said to throw that away?

J leaves the office in shock. She remembers how TH told her the person in the picture is the person who gave birth to him. J remembers how she told him to meet his mom and how TH yelled at her to be quiet. J starts to run.  (Prepare for screenshots people!! The bare minimum is still a lot.  -Fand)

J goes to the gym where TH is playing basketball. TH was thinking of what KJ said “Come and get your mom’s keepsake. come and get the keepsake cuz I don’t want to hang onto it anymore.” TH drops the ball and keeps remembering KJ’s words to come get his mom’s keepsake. TH is tormented about what to do and kicks the ball.

J sees that and runs over and back hugs him. TH looks down at her hands around his waist and asks “Baek Ja Eun?” she doesn’t let go. He asks if anything happened. she shakes her head no. TH: Can I turn around and look at you. She shakes her head no and just keeps holding him. J: ajusshi -they say secrets become secrets cuz there isnt someone who can listen to it sincerely. that’s why I don’t want to have secrets from you-that’s why I want to tell you everything – I can do that right? TH: yes. J: i will really tell you everything.TH: umm tell me everything. J: I really like you. so it makes me afraid and tremble, but it doesnt stop – I really like you a lot ajusshi. He finally turns around to face her and holds her hands. he looks into her eyes. TH: I will ask you again. What happened… She shakes her head no. TH: that’s ok then. he hugs her close.

G tells HR that TB quit for personal reasons. even thoough the mood is down they need to have some strength. G gives an assignment that TB was working to SY for her to finish up. G tells HR to work on the corner that TB was working on – as in rewrite it but HR isnt listening. he calls out her name so she says sorry.

When HR is alone she debates whether to call TB and her mom calls. HR asks why her mom came

TB is walking down the hall and sees HR’s mom. she runs over and takes his hand and says its been a long time – have you been well.  (HR’s mom keeps calling TB “Hwang son in law” just like SY’s parents) TB: yes. she says : when I think about you there are so many things I am sorry for so I wanted to meet you once. how is it that we run into each other here? are you meeting HR again is that why she got a job here. it is huh? TB says no that’s not it but she holds his hand and says that turned out so well-now I can stretch out my legs and sleep. HR runs over and pulls her mom away saying let’s go- hurry and go.  her mom asks what HR is like that cuz she was just happy to see TB again. HR tells TB sorry and asks him to leave first. but her mom says she has something to say to TB. SY’s mom watches that. SY comes out and watches TB with HR and her mom and then SY turns and sees her own mom.

SY calls out “mom what brings you here without calling” SY says TB quit start together yesterday and everything is settled for certain (meaning no more working with HR). Her mom says move aside cuz I don’t want to see you right now too. She walks away in anger. SY calls out “mom” as she watches her leave

SY’s mom goes and packs TB’s clothes. Her husband asks what happened suddenly. he asks what she is doing and why. She tells him to pack TB’s stuff and she will pack the stuff in here. He asks her to say something. She yells she will make SY get a divorce. she cant leave SY next to someone who isnt hunman anymore.  she wont let her daughter be hurt anymore and wont let her life be messed up anymore. She cries and throws down the clothes

SY gets a text from her dad. he tells her how he is on his way with her mom with TB’s belongings to TB’s home and her mom is going to get SY divorced. did something happen at the office?  SY gets up quickly. she tells TB something big happened

SY’s parents come in with TB’s bags. TB’s mom and dad ask what the in laws are doing suddenly.  (SY’s mom doesnt call TB son in law and refers to him as reporter Hwang) SY’s mom says this is TB’s belonging.  she just brought his clothes and small belongings and the rest will be delivered. grandma: what is this? mom: you are saying all these are TB’s belongings? SY’s mom: yes. it is reporter Hwang’s belongings and I am going to get the two of them divorced. I wont let him and SY live together anymore. SY’s dad tells his wife to sit and talk and calm down. His wife says there is no need to sit cuz she doesn’t even want to be in this home even a second longer.  TB’s mom says her words are too harsh. without even an explanation, you bring his belongings here. who does something like this. SY’s mom says how it wasnt enough that TB met that woman at work now he is meeting her mom too. his mom asks what SY’s mom means and to explain so that they can understand. SY’s mom says how TB has been working with HR for two weeks. even SY knew and TB was meeting with HR out in the open (sort of like he didnt care and was brazen about it)  is this something proper for him to do. if he cared about his family this wouldnt have happened. grandma asks TB’s mom if HR is that Han HR. his mom nods yes. SY’s mom: I will make this short.  make the two of them get divorced. I wont stand to watch my daughter be hurt anymore.

TB comes in with SY and his mom asks if that is true – is he working with HR. grandma tells TB to talk. SY’s mom tells him to talk – tell them the  truth. His dad asks TB to talk – why can’t you talk. are you really working with HR at the office. TB says yes. dad tries to go hit TB but SY stops him and shields TB. SY says TB didn’t do anything wrong. he has the right to meet Han HR. her mom asks what that mean. so does his dad.  SY announces: I am sorry but we have a contract marriage. everyone is shocked.

I’m quite proud of TB for quitting on SY’s behalf, since he wasn’t really doing anything wrong or struggling with HR in the first place.  I thought that quitting would cause immediate problems due to resentment on his part and guilt on hers, so I was pleasantly surprised when TB asked her to stay by his side. I felt horrible for SY when TB didn’t answer her question, but I don’t think he would have quit if he didn’t love her (because his job has always been the most important thing to him).  I think it’s hard for him to admit his feelings after only ever loving one woman (HR) and I’m sure it would be particularly hard to acknowledge his feelings on a day where he quit his job, got yelled at, and was punched in the face.  The timing of her question was a bit unfair, though I don’t think she planned to ask it.  Hopefully this doesn’t make her decide to give up on TB, since it seemed to get to her when her mom asked if their affection was mutual.

I can’t really tell, but are they setting N up to be some sort of genius, or just smart?  I sort of hope he’s just a normal kid since I think it would be more interesting to watch him struggle with acceptance from people as a normal kid, and would also make TS’s pride in him being more meaningful.  That being said, if he is a genius, it could take the story some interesting places.  I also liked that TS was so happy about N, that even while driving some drunk guy home he still looked happy.

I have to admit, I enjoy watching J stew over TH.  He’s usually the one stewing, so it’s nice to see the tables turned.  TH is so clearly clueless about all this stuff that it’s sort of funny that she takes his behavior so seriously (although I’m sure most of us have been there).

Omo though, I can’t believe TH actually followed J to the sauna.  Nix that, I do believe that the king of jealousy would do that, but he seriously has no sense when it comes to women!  That old technique of lying to your girlfriend so you can stalk her and imply mistrust isn’t all that helpful. 😛  Thankfully TH also told J about his mom, and that was a step that I was dying for him to take since I think it was needed for them to get closer (not to mention move past his jealous behavior).

I swear I’ve never seen two boys grab and punch each other so much, but KJ has definitely been more the aggressor lately, and that feels right.  I think he’s hurting more than TH lately, and I don’t think he has it in him to play the part of mature hyung anymore.  I love TH to death, but he’s extremely obstinate, and KJ has been more than fair. He tried to let things play out slowly before, solely on TH’s behalf, but now I think he’s at a loss and just feels desperate for acceptance from someone, whether it be his father, J, or TH.  The only person that really loved KJ was his mom, and now TH is insulting that person.  It’s hard enough being adopted, never mind being adopted as a replacement that never lives up to the real thing. Poor KJ is in need of a back hug of his own.

Speaking of which, that back hug was extremely sweet, and reminded me of the hug in CYHMH after Bong Woo Ri finds out Dong Joo is deaf.  In both scenes the guys are thinking that they’re comforting the girls, but the girls are upset purely on the mens’ behalf, and hug them because they are helpless to do anything else or change what happened.  Even though I love the adorably awkward scenes between TH and J, I think this was my favorite scene of theirs because they’re really starting to rely on each other and connect on a deeper level. I do hope that J and TH talk openly about his mom later, but I’m guessing J doesn’t want to bring it up while TH is at work (she’s probably scared too). I also hope that J empathizes with KJ, and helps TH understand where KJ is coming from.  Even though I was happy to see J chase after TH, part of me was sad to see KJ left behind, and I hope he gets some support from someone soon.

Poor Y only managed to look cool and collected in front of TP for all of 3 seconds.  She may be older, but he definitely has the upper hand and I think he’s going to enjoy toying with her.

Even though I was expecting SY’s mom to try to force TB out, I was not expecting SY to announce that their marriage is based on a contract.  I think she did it to defend TB, but I’m not sure it’ll make things any better for him.  Now that it happened I’m surprised it wasn’t something I had thought about before, and I think it’s a much bigger deal than telling their co-workers anything.  I really do think it’s likely that they’ll get a divorce now, but I’m kind of okay with it since I think it’ll make their romance more romantic.  I’m so horrified that the family knows now though!  Feeling that way makes me love this drama even more, but I am still dreading the beginning of next episode.  It’s not going to be pretty.

It’s pretty obvious why KJ was crying in this scene. He is hurt that the only son of his deceased mother doesn’t want what she left behind for TH. Just as it would break her heart, it’s breaking KJ’s right now. I loved that he punched TH tonight. TH had it coming. I never expected his answer would be to throw it away. I was even rooting for KJ to hit him. More than that, I think KJ had other reasons to be moved to tears. Maybe he couldn’t believe TH is the son his mom loved all these years more than him when TH was so undeserving of that devotion now as he coldly said to throw away the keepsake. It could also be cuz KJ was mad at himself for believing TH would come around and finally accept the keepsake. Another part of it might be jealousy cuz TH has so much family love and J’s attention too while KJ is about to lose an adoptive father who doesnt even want him. Or the ultimate possibility would be his resentment towards life cuz he should have had a birth mother like his adoptive mom.  Whatever his reasons were, this guy made my eyes well up with tears right along with his.

*I keep trying to wrap my head around this, but I don’t get why TH doesn’t want his mother’s keepsake. Is he still in denial that he doesn’t care? You could tell it bothered him that he told KJ to throw it away. What is he so afraid of? That he might want to forgive her? I am so dreading the scene where he goes to see where his mom is buried. That’s going to be tough to watch. At least now he can go with J.

Fanderay just gave me a really good answer, here is what she said : my take on TH not wanting the keepsake is that whereas KJ feels like he’s just a replacement, TH feels like he’s been replaced, and he’s too stubborn to let himself be treated like a real son now (because in his mind it’s too late, and taking the keepsake would be like forgiving her).
