I love that K tried to bond with AJ’s dad. How great would it be for K to have a father figure in his life again. He is going to need a parent figure to lean on cuz pretty soon his aunt is going to be kicking K to the curb based on his actions tonight. Anyone who ever doubted K’s love for AJ can’t anymore. K has a new purpose in life and he is throwing himself into the relationship with everything he has and sacrificing so much. He has never smiled this much in earlier episodes so it’s so wonderful to see his character really happy for the first time in his life. Even YJ is going to have to accept defeat when she faces the fact that the K she knew has been gone for quiet some time…maybe what he did tonight will make it finally sink in for her.

K and AJ are walking back to her room.  she tells him to sleep well and starts to go up the stairs. K tells her to sleep well and he will wake her early in the morning. she goes to her balcony to wait for him to appear and when he does she gets shy and goes in.

 

SR is outside by the pool. she looks at her ring. JB calls out her name. he runs -almost trips. he tries to hug her saying he was wrong and she pushes him into the pool. he is face down in the water. she tells him to come out and starts yelling for help. he gets up. he says again he is sorry. how could you give up your life over someone like me? dont think those bad thoughts again. you cant do that. she asks how he knew she was here. JB says AJ told him. she gets mad -so you asked AJ again about me? where I was -so did you act pitiful and meet her again- did you go to her home again?  he says what could he do-she was gone-cuz she was gone he couldnt see anything- he was worried and felt urgent –  if he goes on top of the han river bridge and throws a suicide letter -it might be aired on tv-and she will see it somewhere – he even thought of doing those things

she asks if JB really worried and wanted to die. JB says he cant live without her- cant live even for a day – no – cant breathe even an hour without her. she tells him to come closer and he pulls her into the pool. they hug and he says sorry again

 

JB comes out of the room and SR serves him toast. he wonders if his clothes are dried and she shows him the suit she bought him. he says she should have bought hers and she says she did. she tells him to take his robe off and he says “again?” she says they have to hurry and leave. 

 

K helps AJ into the limo and she thanks him. YJ watches them drive off. YJ remembers watching K kiss AJ.

 

This time AJ and K fly back to seoul. she thanks him. K: rest up and let’s meet tm. she says she is busy tm and he says he is too-but let’s still meet.AJ: ok what time tm? K:what time is ok (for you) AJ: i’m busy so not sure -8? K: 7 AJ:7:30 K: 7:20 they both grin and she agrees on 7:20.

 

AJ yells that she is back. her dad asks if work went well. she says she thinks it went well but they have to wait for the results. he says she has talent. she says she is hungry and sees all the food and asks if he made it cuz a lot of effort went into it. he hesitates saying who made it and just says someone gave it to them. she asks who and he avoids her gaze and says he ate and tells her to wash up and eat. she says it tastes good-whoever made it.

 

AJ sings the song K sang with her monkey. she gets a call from YJ. YJ asks to meet now. YJ offers to go near AJ’s home

 

AJ goes to meet YJ at some wine bar. YJ offers alcohol and AJ takes a glass. YJ says she just came from jejudo. she knew AJ and K went there and didnt think she was following them,but before she knew it she was heading towards the airport. AJ:if you came to jeju then…YJ finishes her sentence and admits she saw them. YJ says but she couldnt go up to them. YJ:how was it for you? i was engaged to him and it was broken off but you – with one lie – you got to marry him. of course it was a fake marriage. even tho I was engaged to him, it didnt work-also it was over a reason I couldnt control. AJ starts to ask “what…” but YJ blurts out that it was cuz of SH. AJ:what? YJ: back then SH must have liked me. and he asked to break off the engagement cuz of his younger brother. it was just to avoid for a short time. AJ: in my position I dont think i need to hear this. YJ explains K was her first love -i thought he would be mine till I died-having him stolen by someone else do you know how that feels? AJ : I know it’s hard for you to accept this situation but I know how you feel a little. I really do. sorry but I’m going to leave first

 

aunt, Chen, K, and others are at the meeting. aunt makes a speech. she thanks everyone for working hard towards making this deal happen. then she thanks chen for being interested in their hotel and she promises to do her best to make their hotel chain the best in china.

K says he has something to say to Chen in conclusion 

K stands and bows: first of all-  I am sorry. I didnt set out to purposely deceive you. I didnt get married.
Chen:what are you talking about?
K: to keep up your impression of me – I kept using the lie that I was married. for not being able to separate business with -for just now revealing the truth

I have no words to express my regret 

Chen: you are lying to me?
K says using hard words I dont know that even tho he lied about the marriage and it was a terrible thing to do -chen can still have faith in their contract cuz there is nothing dishonest -“please believe me”

Chen asked “Why are you telling it to me now?”
K replied, “I created lies, and this is my punishment.

then chen gets up and leaves

 

K’s aunt is mad and yells at K. she asks if he is crazy-in his right mind. aunt: what did you just do? K:i’m sorry. aunt:why? you lied to me too so why be honest now? if you were going to lie you should have done it all the way till the end. if you were going to reveal the truth you should have done it sooner and begged for forgiveness. so why did you do this? K keeps saying sorry and that he will take responsibility for everything. aunt repeats the word “responsibility” and says if he doesnt get chen’s investment he wont get the next (something important to K- i dont know the word). K looks worried.

 

AJ’s boss asks how AJ was able to get the job done. she says she was honest. then the other big coworker says he needs help with his project and boss asks the room to help and everyone avoids his gaze and the big guy says AJ would be good at it so she gets roped into doing it

 

K honks his car horn as AJ comes out of work. K:why did you end so late? she says she is a civil servant and asks why he finished so early when he is someone who runs a business. K:early? I thought I was going to die missing you to death. she shows him her new assignment. he reads it and she offers to give him invitations and he says no thanks cuz who goes to see this. K guesses she got another task no one else wanted. AJ: for working well at jejudo- it’s a bonus. he mutters that she does all the work alone. she asks where they are going. K says SH wants to meet.

 

SH, AK, SB are at the cafe.  SB is trying to feed AK but she doesnt want it.  K and AJ show up together. SH stands up in surprise.  K says hi to SB. AK asks who K is. SB explains K is SG’s older brother. SB introduces AK to K. AK says K is very handsome. SB: no need to say stuff like that.

he asks why AJ and K came together and invites them to sit. AJ and K sit together.

SH looks startled so K asks why SH’s expression is like that. SH asks how they came together. K: does a thread not follow a needle? AJ laughs at what he said- why are you like that. K:what did I do?  K asks for something good to eat so SB gives them waffles to eat cuz it was just made. he asks them to tell him how it tastes. AJ feeds K. SB asks how it tastes and K says he is still good at cooking. SB brags to AK that he is this good and asks her again to try it. AK mutters she doesnt want to gain weight and SB says what’s wrong with that – she can look glamorous. SH is not smiling. K feeds AJ. YJ show up and doesnt go in and leaves. SH goes after her.

 

SH says she must be surprised. she says she isnt. SH asks if they should go drinking together. she says it’s ok. she starts to leave so he holds her hand and asks her to look at him. he takes both her hands and says: when you start dating -two ppl hold hands -when you let go of one hand-i think it means it’s over. YJ: I am the only one holding on- is that what you want to say? SH:there is someone who doesnt even get to hold hands and it’s over, but at least you got to. YJ:that is why it hurts more. SH: you have to be happy for me to feel comfortable -I really hate saying this but you have to let go of hyung (K)

 

SH is drunk and kicks over the easel that was holding up his painting of AJ. He mutters “should have looked at me just once-just once”. he cant stand straight. SB comes over and tries to get him to get up, but SB notices the picture SH drew. SB guesses the person SH was talking about was AJ. SH asks him to hit him once. SH cries and says what do I do.

 

SR meets her friends and they says SR is putting on a show. one by one they repeat what SR said about divorce and suicide. SR acts hurt and says “dont do that you guys”. one says they were worried SR would die -another says instead of dying SR went on a vacation. SR says these days with JB it’s like their honeymoon. SR says she brought big news. she wants to go to study abroad,  but she is worried about AJ and cant go. friends ask what the news is. SR : dont be shocked but AJ confessed to me that it was a lie that she was married-that marriage was a fake. AJ told me herself that she was angry at me for being married to JB so AJ lied. friends asks “what” SR: but now AJ has someone she likes. friends ask who. SR:who do you think it is. one guesses K. SR:that’s right but this isnt important – what is more shocking is K has another girl – that is the truth. I saw it with my own eyes so that is why I cant die and I cant go study abroad cuz you guys who get in trouble.

 

AJ overlooks some work for a show she is helping put on

 

YJ waits for K to show up near the river. she asks if he was ok – he must be busy. he asks what’s up and she says she misses him. he told her to settle her feelings but she cant. she knows he doesnt like it but she met AJ. she told AJ everything she felt. she hurt her pride a little but she thought AJ would understand her sincerity. K says this not looking at her: YJ- i never thought of stuff like destiny before but these days I changed my mind – end up loving someone you shouldnt love – and there are times when you break up with someone you never want to – back then-when I had no choice but to break up with you – it was my destiny. like you I had a hard time too -but I accepted it -now it’s your turn. I love GAJ . like you said I dont want to be cowardly anymore – no matter what you say- I cant hear it- in my eyes, I cant see you. K leaves

In his car, K calls and says let’s meet right away. K goes to meet AJ and says he heard she met YJ-when. AJ:what are you going to do if you know-nothing changed – i just understand YJ a little now-like SR hurt me like that a long time ago -Im hurting YJ like that now. so at first I felt sorry-next I was able to understand and my heart ached. he asks if she is ok now. she nods.

K: let me ask a favor-from now on whatever happens to you -dont leave anything out and tell me.

if you ate breakfast or starved -what you side dishes were-if you feel happy or sad- if you make changes to your hair or not – how many times you washed your hand in a day-I’m curious about everything

so tell me everything that happens to you. he takes her hand. also I will never let you feel pain alone again. never.  she says he seems like a different person and thanks him. he hugs her. she asks if he came cuz he was worried about her-you came cuz you wanted to hug me right? she looks at him and then hugs him back again

 

H asks K: you shaved in the morning but you are doing it again? K: do I look clean cut? H: are you going on a blind date?  K grins and doesnt answer. H: if a guy is too clean cut, girls dont like it. your tendency is to go overboard. K:what about the car? H: I cleaned it really well. but really where are you going that you did all this. K: it’s a secret.

 

*in korean the word for “clean cut” could be translated to “sharp looking”, “neat freak”, or “too kempt”

 

AJ is on the phone with K. she asks if he is still working and he says yes.K:cuz I kept playing with you these days so work is piling up. AJ: you must be tired – hurry and do it and go home. her bell rings. AJ:someone must have come. her dad says the same thing. she calls out to her dad that she will get the door. K: dont open the door for just anyone-there are so many bad guys these days.

AJ:dont worry. she opens and K is standing outside her door. AJ: what are you doing? K asks loudly: is father inside? I’ll just go in for a short time. AJ pushes him back asking where he is going in. her dad shows up so K bows and says hello. K looks terrified.

 

her dad and K sit across from each other. AJ brings appetizers and there are bottles of soju on the table. her dad tells K to accept a glass. K:yes father. her dad asks if K is those cherry blossoms. K:what? her dad: when those flowers were gone do you know how much she cried…but AJ stops her dad from finishing. her dad tells K to drink and mutters “this robber” so K chokes. dad: hurry and drink. K finishes drinking. her dad pours another glass and AJ tells him to drink slowly.

her dad to K: was she really shining? K:what? dad:when you first met her- was my AJ shining.

K says yes – like burst of fireworks (my guess but I think he mentioned the word “star”). dad tells him to drink up

 

they keep drinking and K looks green (like he could hurt any second) her dad is drunk and asks if K is drunk yet. K says he isnt. they switch to bigger glasses. Aj tries to stop her dad but he tells her to sit still. they drink at the same time. they both look green. K says her dad drinks well. dad: this isnt much *hiccup* her dad asks if K is going to drink more. OMG they are drinking out of bowls.  K looks like he is going to hurl. her dad finally passes out. K smiles but passes out too. she goes from her dad to K

* I totally felt like I got drunk vicariously thru K’s great acting

 

AJ puts K in her bed. K mutters “father I am not drunk” she takes his tie off. he calls out her name and holds onto her. she leans in and kisses him on the cheek. she gives him her stuffed animal saying here is AJ. AJ plays with his eyelashes and lightly touches his cheek.

 

next morning her dad and AJ stand over a sleeping K. he asks what she likes about K. AJ says K is good looking. her dad says K’s eyebrows are not as dark as her dad’s, K has more hair than her dad, but K cant beat her dad. she says K is taller. he says being tall is not good cuz you just end up hitting your head on the hand grips riding on buses but she says K doesnt ride buses so her dad disproves and wakes K, but AJ makes her dad leave the room.

 

over the meal- AJ says her dad is the best and thanks him for the meal.

her dad says to K: I won

K:what?

dad: I won the drinking game cuz you passed out first.

K says:what are you saying? I saw you pass out first father and then I passed out.

dad: you saw? but I still won

AJ:why?

dad: cuz I woke up first so that is why I won

K: father you cant say you won cuz of that -I did win

dad: look at this person

AJ asks her dad to stop-just eat – dad you won and so did K

dad explains he is a lawyer so he wants to argue but K says a lawyer shouldnt do this

so AJ yells for them to stop

 

H asks K how much he drank cuz H can smell it on K.

K asks if H did what K ordered

H explains the amount reserved is low – only 5% -even if there was a free ticket – one would debate whether to go or not

K gives him a dirty look so H explains that the reason for having the event is good but it’s too traditional

K:what is the point of doing something everyone knows how to do

K gets too defensive so H asks why K is like that towards him

K: cuz you are saying it like it wont work that’s why

P calls K and says chen is acting strange and she heard from someone she knows (think she said her spy at GH=Great Hotel)  that chen has begun talks with GH (K’s rival) and chen is looking into negotiations with GH. K says ok and hangs up. he mutters :it’s not like I didnt imagine this would happen but not this fast

 

AJ finds out that there are only 5% reservations and another guy says when someone else did this there were no reservations at all

 

aunt meets with YJ’s parents (father’s name is Park). aunt says Park is funny and says to YJ’s mom that she must be happy and that the aunt is envious. YJ’s mom says as long as her daughter and husband are happy-that’s what makes her happy. aunt says YJ will be happy soon. park says K seems busy with chen and it would have been nice if they came too. aunt says to do that she needs park’s help and he gets the hint

 

aunt goes to meet K and says she heard chen is meeting with great hotel. K says he knows

aunt:what are you going to do? are you just going to watch (while you lose your deal)

since you said you would take responsibilty you should have some plan of action

K says he is looking into other investments. she says K needs chen for china and the problem cant be solved with other investors. He says he knows that but she cuts him off and tells him that she met YJ’s parents today. park worked in china for a long time and K knows that too. while park was in china, chen helped park a lot. K:so? aunt starts to talk about K and YJ so he interrupts her

K: YJ is just now starting to settle how she feels for me but you want me to meet her again?

aunt:whether you meet her, marry her , or break up with her-whatever you do it doesnt matter to me -I’m a businesswoman.no matter what you have to hold onto Park-he is the last card you have – only he can change chen’s mind

 

YJ’s mom goes to see her daughter and YJ is passed out. the mom gets a call from K’s aunt and the mom says it’s not serious -YJ is in the hospital for stress-as long as she takes medicine and calms down she will be ok.the mom apologizes for not being able to keep the appt tm .Park comes in and her mom asks if this is their daughter (cuz she looks ill)

 

P talks about chen again and how he is holding hands with GH -if ppl find out the reason why…but K tells her to stop. K says he will handle his own problem. she asks how.  he says there is still time left and to wait-and that chen isnt someone who decides easily. I will figure it out somehow so you can go

 

AJ texts K:are you really busy? I am more busy.  let’s eat and work.  aunt calls to say YJ is in the hospital and tells K to go right now to the hospital. if K doesnt appear in front of YJ’s parents, K can forget about chen’s investment. he tries to talk but she hung up

 

K goes to see YJ and covers her and says dont be sick.

 

H asks where K is going and K says he is going out for a short time. H asks where

 

AJ is wearing a hanbok. she asks a guy if a lot of ppl came cuz all the tickets were  sold. guy says there is time left so they could show up. there are like maybe fifteen ppl in the audience. she goes on stage and K is the only one clapping the loudest with flowers next to him.

 

K gives her flowers and says she did well.  she asks what he is doing. she is mad cuz he bought all the tickets – she asks how many tickets he bought –  he admits he bought them and says he bought a lot. she asks how many -50? 100? 300? 500? at first he says no but the higher she went the quieter he got.she asks how he could do this – she says he made her look foolish.she didnt even know…she turns to go so he says wait.K: since this is a good event i thought a lot of ppl would come to see so I gave some tickets away and told everyone but no one came. she says she didnt want this – she thought she did this with her own effort and was so happy-before she went on stage her heart was beating a lot – so how could he make her look foolish. K: i thought if it was all sold

you would be happy so I bought them. AJ: cant believe this. she shakes his hand off and leaves

 

she goes and sits on their bench. there are blue lights on the trees. she thinks it’s pretty and it’s K still connecting them. he asks if she was surprised-thank goodness- I was so worried you wouldnt be surprised. I didnt know the right way to handle those tickets-cuz you worked so hard I didnt want you to be disapppinted so I did that. I’m sorry

K sits next to her. I think I am learning one by one -how to match you.

she grins. he asks if the lights are pretty. she leans on his shoulder. he makes the lights blink.

 

YJ’s dad is meeting chen.

 

aunt asks K why he didnt go to YJ when she told him to. K: if you are going to talk about that – dont. aunt:why are you like this? why are you leaving the easy and certain path and keep trying to go the hard way (path). aunt says she looked into AJ. she says she will be blunt but he tells her to stop. K: that is my personal life – dont link it with business. aunt: since you became world hotel president with your own strength so you will know better than anyone-is doing business as clear cut as you think? with this matter – listen to my words. K:aunt

aunt: listen to me -if you keep acting like you dont know YJ…I made a dinner appt with Park’s family -no matter what show up -it’s your last chance

 

AJ gets a call. minister talks about jejudo and how well she did cuz it must have been hard to convince them. she says she was just doing her job. he asks about how she said she was married to K. he asks if she knows Park (YJ’s dad).she says she never met him. he says he heard how park’s daughter was going to marry K so why did AJ tell that lie. minister says he doesnt know why she told that lie and mentions her job title – if there are weird rumors with her and K-how will other ppl outside look at it. he says will cover it up cuz she worked hard but not again next time.she says sorry

 

YJ’s mom tells YJ to wear something prettier. the mom tells YJ the aunt and K are coming to dinner.

 

aunt, YJ, and her parents are waiting for K. park says K must be busy and aunt apologizes. YJ’s mom says K is too late. aunt says he isnt the kind of person not to be on time and excuses herself

 

AJ texts K asking where he is cuz she today she is in “sad mode” and needs “cheering up wind”. he grins and starts to text back but his aunt calls. his aunt asks where he is right now- how can he not  keep his appt time. he says he never promised to go. she says she isnt asking him to do anything with YJ -you said you would separate dating and business. come right now. this is business. it’s business where our group’s future is on the line. K apologizes. aunt: I am asking you as a favor as the aunt who raised you like my own. even if dirt goes in my eyes, I cant lose the china deal to GH -the one I fought all my life.you know your aunt’s heart right? K gives in

 

when K gets in his car, he gets a call from AJ. she asks where he is and he says office. AJ: still? K: i have a lot to do today. she says he must be busy cuz he ignored her text.K:sorry. she says his voice sounds more sad than hers. she offers to go his office and asks when he will be done. K: no I will call when I am done. she says she doesnt like misunderstanding and distrust/suspicions-she was going to hold in things that are hard on her -but does he know Park (YJ’s dad). K looks shocked. AJ: I shouldnt have mentioned it-its strange but I am gloomy today and mentioned it so dont pay any attention. if I am going to date korea’s most busy HKJ-even if I miss you a lot I should be patient. go back to work and call when you are done. K promises he will call after work ends

 

she starts to text him- sorry for bringing that up – but I really want to see you

K gets her text and pulls over and looks at some fire works

he remembers how his aunt said she made a dinner appt with park

and how AJ asked if he knew park

and how YJ says she cant get over K

he looks conflicted and drives off

 

AJ says it would be nice if he was next to her on a day like this

sent a text and he didnt respond-what kind of boyfriend is like this

K texts and says he really misses her today

he texts :why do you look so tired

he calls and says sorry for calling late

AJ: it’s ok you must have been so busy that you couldnt even go to the bathroom

K: I am busy but why do you look like that

K shows up and looks at her

she runs over to him and hugs him crying

he hugs her back

AJ: do you know how hard it was for me

K do you know how much I wanted to see you
